  • Carry Out Vehicle Servicing.
  • Carry out minor electrical repairs.
  • Carry out minor body repairs.
  • The Driving Of The Recovery Vehicle.
  • The Recovery of disabled vehicles and carry out vehicle changeovers.
  • Carry Out First Use Checks & Return to Service Inspections and complete any associated paperwork.
  • Carry Out Wheel Nut Inspections and complete any associated paperwork.
  • Drive company vehicles, where qualified and perform associated tasks as directed.
  • Be a proactive positive team member.
  • Be flexible and be able to adapt to the companies needs when requested.

  • To ensure the compliance of the companies policies and procedures at all times.

 

OTHER INFORMATION:

  • Hours of work: 38 hours per week
  • Annual Holiday Entitlement: 5 weeks holiday plus paid public holidays.
  • You will be part of a shift system and overtime may be requested by management to cover business needs.

What are my responsibilities?
You will help customers board the coach and give them a nice smooth journey, running long distance express coach services within the UK on behalf of Go North East for National Express.

You will assist passengers throughout their journey, including helping with luggage and selling tickets, where appropriate.

What skills are needed to be a coach driver?
You need to have held a driving licence for at least 2 years. Most importantly, you must be great with people – dealing with customers, colleagues and members of the public.

Do I have to pay for my training?
No, your CPC training is fully funded and you will undertake dedicated National Express induction training and extensive route learning also. Further ongoing training to allow you to enjoy your job more and to give our customers the best experience is also provided.

Can anyone apply?
We welcome applications from anyone that has a background in providing great customer service. You should be at least 21 years old and need to have held a driving licence for at least 2 years.

What happens after I apply?
Successful applicants will be undertake specific National Express induction training and in depth route learning before being allowed to drive on the network.

Additional ongoing National Express training will also be undertaken, with customer care, manual handling and wheelchair familiarity.

How many hours can I work?
You are guaranteed work for a minimum of 39 hours, with opportunities to work overtime. The rota is a mixture of 4 and 5 day weeks.

Rates of pay and conditions

  • £8.74 per hour
  • Enhanced rates apply on Bank Holidays
  • Overnight expenses: 1 day – £5.15, 2 days – £15.44, 3 days – £25.73 or 4 days – £36.03.
